I am sure you have all seen or owned some of these glass containers.
My research shows these were made by the Tachikichi Company, 1970s, and marketed worldwide under different brand names.
They are well made glass. The body and lid have been blow moulded and the lids have been ground to fit the bases. There is a significant amount of hand work here for objects that were designed for everyday kitchen use.
These came in a huge range of sizes and colours with slight style variations in the lid handle. I have seen them with bases as large as 30cm (11in) in diameter and up to 36cm (14in) high.
Like many things that were sold cheaply and in high numbers they were seen as an attractive and utilitarian item but not really valued.
I think they are being appreciated more now looking at the prices people ask for them here!
Height from 18cm (7in) to 32cm (12.5cm ).
