Here we got an Pewter ruby glass cocktail shaker by the Queens Art Pewter Company located in the Brooklyn Navy Yard NY. Two Germans made Danish Pewter and glass objects there from the 1920 till 2000 when the firm finally closed after several new owners. Some of there products are in the Brooklyn Arts Museum. This shaker stands 15 inches tall and has a fantastic thick cork lit that dates it in to the 1930's. Prohibition ended in 1933 and many firms made cocktail shaker than for the first time. This came in ruby, clear and green glass (a friend collector told me that aperently there are cobalt blue ones out there as well but I have not seen any actual pictures of them.. ) . The Queens in the companies name stands for Queens NY , not " The Queen ". There is also a picture of my ruby glass cocktail shaker collection - I will highlight the others in the coming weeks ..
