



The family scale is a staple of antique malls. These were for home use although it is possible the occasional retailer used them.
There are patent dates of 1899 and 1899 just under the center of the dial hidden by the pointer. Does not that it when it was made but does give one a general idea of when it was made.
To adjust the scale there is a knob under the weighing plate for adjustments.
It is still fairly accurate but I would not use it for retail sales today. Weights and Measures is quite strict.
