This kettle was made by the West Bend Company from West Bend, Wisconsin during 1911 -1930's. The handle is made of Bakelite with no cracks or chips. The kettle a few dings for regular use over the last century, but it still whistles like a champ. It is marked SOLID COPPER WB on the bottom. The style is very distinct and attractive. Hot water is not a waiting game with this fine piece, within minutes I'm enjoying herbal tea. I can't help eyeballing this kettle when ever I'm in my kitchen. It almost like it is trying to strike up a conversation with me. I absolutely love it! =)
