I can't even remember when I took this from mum's house where it was just stored away for decades, and tucked it into my store room for the last few years! Like mother like daughter, eh? Anyway this was hers or my dad's (from their single days perhaps) in the early 60s I believe. It is aluminium and very heavy (Made in England "Swan brand" by Bulpitt & Sons, Birmingham - patent pending. Bulpitt & Sons are the ones who made the first fully immersible heating element), with a bakelite handle. The electric cord (black and white) was kept inside the kettle for safe keeping.
