I wanted this set so badly, because it came with two lids, and I needed the extra lid for a previos yellow 503 I purchase. pic#3 which also has a smooth chip. But, I still adore it.
This yellow vintage 503 Pyrex refrigerator dish came with a ribbed and a flat solid glass in the middle.
In the 1950’s it was common to get either one of these lids on this style.
503 is a 1 ½ (one and a half) quart container.
It has a light flea bite, and a small graze or chip to one corner of the dish. But, it is not the type that will cut you if you run your finger across it.
Lid #1 has a solid center, and lines or ridges running down the two (2) sides. It has nicks/chips or flea bites on the inside ridge of the lid.
Lid #2 has ridges all across the top. It also has a few chips/nicks or flea bites on the inside rim of the lid.
None of these are the type that will cause a cut in handling the dish.
Just your basic wear and tear from almost 60 years of service. I'm not complaining since I won this one for $9.50 Thanks to Fios!
